On Friday, May 8 gates will open at 4pm at 5178 Richmond Highway Tappahannock (the main tasting room on Route 360). TETHERED BALLON RIDES will be available (planned 4-8pm weather permitting) Balloons are slated to take off that afternoon to fly our event sponsors (message us for sponsorship opportunities & details). The fun will continue that day with full band LIVE MUSIC, MONSTER TRUCK RIDES with Grape Crusher Monster Ride Truck, and KID ACTIVITIES! FOOD & DRINK will be available as will a VENDOR FAIR. Near dusk, pilots will inflate their balloons and provide a stunning GLOW for all to see! The winery will remain open until 10pm.

On Saturday, May 9, the fun will continue on the festival side of our farm (enter via 854 Dunbrooke Road gate). Balloons will take off shortly after sunrise to fly CHARTERED FLIGHTS (see details below). Ticket holders are invited to come watch. At 3pm, gates open for an unrivaled event and party! A VENDOR FAIR will accompany FOOD & DRINK (both alcoholic & nonalcoholic)! We will have some activities for kids! Furthermore, TETHERED BALLOON RIDES will be available and we will have LIVE MUSIC on our big timber framed stage! As the sun sets pilots will set up for a GLOW exhibit for all to enjoy! Grape Crusher will be giving MONSTER TRUCK RIDES all day!

On Sunday, May 10, the event will conclude with another round of CHARTERED FLIGHTS! All ticket holders are welcome to come watch as the balloons take to the sky shortly after sunrise!

๐Ÿ”ฅA few important details:
๐ŸŽˆWEATHER: ALL balloon activities are weather dependent! ย If it is too windy or raining, balloons may not be able to go up or may go up but be unable to fly. We will work hard with the pilots to navigate any weather issues but please realize this fact and the fact that it is the same for every balloon festival in the world and we cannot control that!

๐ŸŽˆBALLOON EXPECTATIONS: If you have never been to a balloon festival, you may think the balloons are up all day or perpetually fly and landโ€”this is not the case.
โ€ผBALLOONS WILL NOT BE INFLATED WHEN THE GATES OPENโ€ผ
The tethered balloon and walk balloon will be up the majority of the event. A few balloons may fly off during the event but realize that while watching them fly off is fun, after they lift off within minutes they are gone and will not be back for at least a couple hours! We try to make sure all balloons are available to do a spectacular glow Friday and Saturday near sunset.

๐ŸŽˆRIDES-this is a big question! There are 2 types of rides available: tethered rides and chartered flights. Each is booked directly through the pilotsโ€”you pay them directly.
๐Ÿ”ฅTETHERED rides are a short ride in a balloon that typically goes 25-30 feet up and is tied off to anchors on the ground. These rides are very popular, last a few minutes, are purchased in person ON SITE Friday and/or Saturday at the event, and cost $25/person. All ages are welcome, but you cannot hold a child (for relatively obvious reasons). If your child is securely strapped to you that will likely be fine.
๐Ÿ”ฅCHARTERED flights are available and an entirely different experience. These flights typically occur near sunrise and will be offered at least Saturday and Sunday mornings. These are true chartered flights where you fly up, up, and away! The flights usually last 45-60 minutes although the entire experience (briefing with pilot, optional participation inflating your balloon, etc) will make it a 3 hour experience. You must apply IN ADVANCE for these flights and be scheduled. The cost is $350/person and payable directly to your pilot. Most balloons can carry 2 or 3 passengers (it is more a function of weight than number of people) To apply for a chartered flight, fill out the application here:

๐ŸŽˆMUSIC-Friday, May 8 will have music 4:30-7:30 with Karaoke after.

Saturday, May 9 will be Michael Hazelwood and the Freight Train 5, 5-8pm!

๐ŸŽˆFOOD & DRINK-we will have all of our wines, sangria, and our famous wine slushies available! We will also have Bold Rock Hard Cider in flavors such as blackberry, IPA, draft, etc. We will also have a wide variety of non-alcoholic options (water, soft drinks, Gatorade, etc) Food trucks will be available as well as specialty concessions. Exact trucks are TBA and again, feel free to nominate a vendor or throw your hat in the ring to be considered!

๐ŸŽˆDETAILS & RULES
๐Ÿ’ฅThe event is rain or shine and all tickets are nonrefundable.
๐Ÿ’ฅDiscounts will persistently decrease then disappear as the event nears. Buy early to get the best price.
๐Ÿ’ฅIf we are not sold out, we will sell tickets at the gate but gate sales are CASH ONLY. We anticipate thousands of people based on our previous experiences which means there is a big chance of a sell out.
๐Ÿ’ฅNo outside food or drink allowed. In order to comply with ABC laws, all liquids are strictly forbidden as allowing them has previously jeopardized our winery license. We apologize for any inconvenience.
๐Ÿ’ฅKids tickets are ages 3-10; 2 years old and younger are free
๐Ÿ’ฅNO PETS please! This is a rule for all of our big events to insure the safety and enjoyment of everyone. At our events, there are loud noises, monster trucks, hay rides, pony rides, and often other farm animals. Legitimate service animals (but not emotional support animals) are always welcome.
๐Ÿ’ฅWe reserve the right to combine days, alter times, or transfer tickets to insure the safety and enjoyment of those attending and participating in the event.

Lastly, this is an AGRITOURISM EVENT, which is protected from liability by Virginia Law. By purchasing this ticket, you are assuming ALL RISK. The owners, performers, and associated entities bear no responsibility. By virtue of your ticket purchase, you agree to accept ALL responsibility and risk! If you do not accept all risk or injury or death, do NOT buy a ticket or attend. “Under Virginia law, there is no liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. As a SUMMARY, this amazing event will showcase our award winning wines, live music, and professional hot air ballooning! On Friday and Saturday, the event will run from 3pm until 9pm. We will start with a vendor fair, live music, food & drink, and activities for kids. Grape Crusher Monster Ride Truck is slated to be available for monster truck rides (additional charge applies). A tethered balloon for rides will go up (weather permitting) around 4pm and stay up for approximately 4 hours (exact time dictated by number of riders). A โ€œwalk balloonโ€ (balloon that is laid over on its side allowing you to walk inside it) will also be up around that time. There is a possibility of some balloons taking flight around 6 or 630pm, but dependent upon weather and pilot availability. Near sunset, the highlight of the event will be the balloon glow, where all available pilots will stand up their balloons, ignite their burners, and make them โ€œglow!โ€

๐ŸŽˆMUSIC-Music 5-8pm both Friday and Saturday. Phat Boyz will play Saturday ย evening. Supafly Five will play Friday Evening!

Lastly, this is an agritourism/agritainment event which means the promoters, owners, performers, and any companies associated with those individuals bears no responsibility for injury or death as the result of your attendance. You attend at YOUR OWN RISK and by purchasing this ticket you agree that the ticket holder ACCEPTS ALL RISK!

“Under Virginia law, there is no liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity.”
